A fresh take on 1950s fashion

Reworking remnant natural fabrics and vintage haberdashery to create handmade organic cotton, wool and silk coats using traditional tailoring techniques. These investment pieces are based on original 1950s garments, this is slow fashion - and all the better for it.

  • A versatile, ultra-comfy and flattering oversized coat that can be worn anywhere, fully lined for a neat drape and featuring wonderful big welt pockets. The fabric of each coat is cut by hand and then individually stitched, lined, hand-finished and labelled. Ethically-made, it is intended to be loved and worn forever.

* STEVIE - the coat I wore first

A doll-esque shape, swing silhouette and oversized collar made for popping, the STEVIE has a wonderful Fifties vibe yet feels contemporary and cool. Making everyday an occasion, STEVIE is hand cut from quality wool and silk and features hand picked stitching around the lapel and deep side pockets (of course).

* GRACE - super hero cape #1

This cape is based on a well worn original Fifties design that can be adapted to longer or shorter length, with a button down front or crossover with a sturdy press stud fastening at the nect to secure. The cape keeps giving in that it has the choice of a pretty Peter Pan or squared off collar, completed with bound arm slits and hand-stitched details.

Did someone say back pleat and a 360 degree swing? This cape wants to go places, whether that is to the opera, or for a promenade in Paris.

* NANCY - the reversible one

Hot pink wool one side, vintage black jacquard silk the other - both sides with welt pockets - this fully reversible, one-of-a-king adaptation of a 1950s design has double the personality, double the wear. Raglan sleeves drop to bracelet length and the coat length is demure to the just above the knee.
